The Federal Road Safety Corps host the ember month in our host community(Ota). The director of Alfa tyre Protector and other dignitaries grace the occasion which was themed: “Avoiding Speeding, Overloading and Unsafe tyres to arrive alive”.
FRSC hosts the Ember months campaign flag-off collaboration with Shell Oil & Gas in Otta, Ogun stateThe Federal Road Safety Corp, (FRSC) hosted the general public in the automobile industry to its annual Ember months campaign flag off with the theme: Avoiding Speeding, Overloading and Unsafe tyres to arrive alive.
The campaign was to talk about the importance of driving safety during these Ember months and to caution motorists from over-speeding.
The campaign flag-off was held in Otta, Ogun State, as it is the annual routine for the FRSC Otta zone to sensitize motorists and commuters on how to drive safely during the Ember months because it is a well-known fact that there are always accidents on the highways during these months.
The FRSC Otta zonal officer, Mr. AJ Babalola called on other stakeholders to join forces in sensitizing the public on driving with an unsafe tyre.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Alfa Tyre Enterprise, Alh Qasim Folorunsho was also in attendance and he presented the wheel wall-clocks to other guests at the events, the area commander of Sango Otta, Police Station, CSP, Muhammed Dahiru Salah, Trace commander of Ogun West, Mr. Ajibade, and Vehicle Inspection Officer, Engr. Olugbenga. His royal majesty, Oba Professor Abdul Kabir Obalanlege, Olota of Ota, was the royal father of the occasion.
In his remark speech, the royal father spoke about the deadly condition of our roads; and the dilapidated states those roads have been for years. ‘’ We suppose to have speed limit regulation on all our roads. Look at the state of our roads, potholes everywhere. And this causes accidents and reckless driving among motorists.
However, some time ago, I called the controller of FRSC southwest about the terrible condition of our roads, but he said he would send people to Otta. But it is now up to 3 weeks and we haven’t heard or seen anything ‘’Other notable guests at the event are special marshals, the Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police,DSS, VIO, Civil Défense Formal Principal Association, Nigeria Vulcanizers Association, Rental Association of Nigeria, Transport Association, Schools, and Nigeria Technical Association. We were also representatives from Shell and Gas company.
